FRANTIC
"Plan 99 from Outtuh Place"
Rated BT (By Teens)
Graphic Violence
Way back in 1978, the staff and members of the Rindge Shelter Teen Center (Cambridge, MA) with the help of veteran actor and neighborhood resident, JEFF BURTON ("Dodge" Planet of the Apes,1968) began a community-wide project. Under the direction of longtime film and program director, KEN DAILEY both FRANTIC and as it turned out, HALDAY Productions was born.
The project was filmed in SUPER 8 and is 140 mins in its entirety. The script was more or less written, "on the fly" and after many months of editing, FRANTIC premiered in 1979. Over 100 contributing artists from ages 8 to 68 and a very appreciative audience were in attendance. Harrison Ford was not among them. Nor, were Damon or Affleck.
And perhaps more amazing, but true..FRANTIC was produced without any participation from Bela Lugosi or Ed Wood Jr whose services were neither available or as you'll see, required. Although truth-be-told, a few crew members have since reported seeing them briefly on set a number of times..
Keep an eye out for BRIAN BURKE ("Misson Hill" 1982) , DONALD DAILEY, ("School Ties" 1992), and Major Brooks, (lead Singer - "The Sophomores", 1956).
